What does this mean for Milford and surrounding towns, like Hopkinton?
If the proposed bill passes Milford and Hopkinton would be in Region A which includes Boston, Worcester and Northeastern Massachusetts. According to the Boston Globe “Developer David Nunes wants to build an $850 million casino and hotel with shops and restaurants at the intersection of interstates 90 and 495 in Milford.” Another possible location for the Region A casino is Suffolk Downs in East Boston. What Can Hopkinton Residents Do?

  1. Attend the Hopkinton Board of Selectmen’s meeting on Wednesday, August 31 at 6:30 p.m. in Town Hall and be prepared to voice your opinion during the public comment period.
  2. Write to our legislators and governor Deval Patrick. Snail mail is best, but in the interest of time you should feel free to call or email them if that is easier for you.
