Elementary School Building Committee Seeks New Members
The Board of Selectmen is pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity to become actively involved in town government and the future of the Town’s schools. The Board recently approved The Elementary School Building Committee and is currently seeking new volunteers to fill the necessary seats.
The Elementary School Building Committee is seeking the following appointments:
- One At-Large Resident who has Architecture, Engineering or Construction experience;
- One At-Large Resident who has communications, public relations, marketing and/or facilitator experience;
- One At-Large Resident with Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), school building, school administration, educational facility, or facility management experience; and
- One At-Large resident.
The Elementary School Building Committee was formed, in accordance with the provisions of the Town’s Charter and Bylaws, for the purpose of developing, evaluating and, if appropriate, advancing an elementary school building project worthy of the Town of Hopkinton, including monitoring the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) School Building Grant Application process and advising the Board of Selectmen during the construction of an MSBA Approved Project. Its mission is to facilitate the development of a proposed solution to the operational and educational constraints of Center School that will be supported by the voters of Hopkinton, as well as the MSBA.
