Meet the Center School Principal Finalists Monday at 6:30pm

Hopkinton Interim Superintendent, Dr. Steven Hiersche, is pleased to announce that the Center School Principal Screening Committee has identified three outstanding candidates for further consideration for the position of Center School Principal: Ms. Abigail Dressler, Ms. Lauren Dubeau, and Mr. Tim Kearnan. The Screening Committee included representation from building level and central office administration, professional teaching staff, as well as a parent representative.

The Screening Committee interviewed eight applicants. The following candidates (in alphabetical order) will be further considered:

Ms. Abigail Dressler holds a Master of Education degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, also from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She is currently the Acting Principal/Assistant Principal for the John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Franklin. She previously served in the Acton Public Schools as a Second Grade teacher, and as a Kindergarten teacher. She began her career in education as a teacher at Rockport Elementary School in Rockport, MA.

Ms. Lauren Dubeau holds a Master of Education degree in Early Childhood Education from the Worcester State College, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Westfield State College. She is currently the Principal for the Simonian Center for Early Learning in the Sutton Public School district. She previously served in Sutton as the Acting Principal for the Early Learning Center, and as both a Kindergarten and First Grade teacher. She began her career in education as a Special Education Preschool Teacher in the Sutton Public Schools.

Mr. Tim Kearnan holds a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education, specializing in Instructional Technology from Fitchburg State College, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Stonehill College. He is currently the Assistant Principal for Elmwood and Hopkins Elementary Schools in Hopkinton. He previously served in the Hopkinton Public Schools as a second grade teacher, and as a Technology Integration Specialist. He began his career in education as a classroom teacher in the Mendon-Upton School district.

The finalists will be individually interviewed by the Superintendent and members of the administrative team this week, and will participate in a Public Forum next Monday, April 8th. Interested faculty, staff, parents, and community members are invited to attend this forum, at 6:30 PM in the Center School Cafeteria. Attendees will be given the opportunity to provide feedback to the Superintendent.
