Meet our 2025 Marathon Runner – Nick Miller!
We’re excited to announce that our 2025 Marathon Runner supporting civic engagement in Hopkinton this year will be Nick Miller! Read more about Nick below and please consider making a donation to eHop at ehop.org/marathon/!
I have run 12 marathons and am training to run the Boston Marathon in April. About nine years ago, friends of mine completed a marathon, and I thought, why not? I should try, too. To meet my goals, I have continued running and training year-round in heat, rain, snow, and bitterly cold temperatures. One of my goals is to earn the 6-star medal, which includes finishing in Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, New York City, and Tokyo.
Running “The Big 6” is not only difficult for each race, but it is equally challenging to be able to register for each marathon. Boston is the most challenging marathon to get a bib to race.
Last year, I ran virtual half-marathons as part of a raffle to win a spot but was not selected. One of my friends told me about this amazing opportunity to run for Ehop. They aim to provide timely information about key matters in Hopkinton to increase government transparency and foster civic engagement. Hopkinton is the town that hosts the start of the Boston Marathon! Hopkinton does as much for the Boston Marathon as Boston does for the marathon, and for those who run, the Boston Marathon is the Gold Star of running.
Running has become an essential part of my life, and getting to run the Boston Marathon this year is a dream come true.
Would you consider giving any amount, whether $1, $5, $25, or $100, to support their mission to make a lasting impact in the community? My fundraising will fund the organization’s entire budget for 2025. The town of Hopkinton has been the start of the Boston Marathon since 1924, and over 700,000 runners have completed the race over the years. Let’s give back to the town where it all starts. Venmo and Mailed Checks are accepted as well.
