Hopkinton police offer transition program for veterans

Often, when someone leaves the military and applies to be a police officer, describing what they have to offer can be challenging.

Beginning next week, the department is hosting a three-week veterans transition program to help veterans who are interested in law enforcement to learn how to apply for the jobs and to better communicate their skills.

The program is thanks to a $10,000 grant from the state Department of Veteran Services, Bennett said. It is open to anyone and not limited to Hopkinton residents.
