Save the Dates – January School Budget Presentations

To participate in the budget process, check out these important dates.  Many provide opportunities for questions and comments to school administration and government officials involved in the process.

• 12/19 – Presentation of the Superintendent’s preliminary district budget – Click here to view the Superintendent’s Budget Presentation from 12/19
• 1/2 – Full day kindergarten program will be discussed, as well as Technology and Student Services (special education) Budgets. Regular Meetings of Hopkinton School Committee will precede budget working sessions (Public Comment included)
• 1/9 – Budget Working Session (No public comment) – Middle School, High School, and Athletic Department Budgets
• 1/16 – Central Office, Buildings and Grounds, and Curriculum Department Budgets will be discussed. Regular Meetings of Hopkinton School Committee will precede budget working sessions (Public Comment included)
• 1/21 at 7pm – State of the Schools event on HCAM presented by the HPTA.  Submit questions and comments to secretary@hptaonline.com
• 1/23 – Budget Working Session (No public comment) – Elementary School Budgets (Center, Elmwood and Hopkins Schools)
• 1/30 – Public Hearing on School Budget and adoption by School Committee of Preliminary FY 15 Budget
• 2/25 – Town Manager presents Town Budget to the Board of Selectmen (Public Comment included)
• 3/11 – Board of Selectmen submit final Town Budget to Appropriation
• April 2014 – Date to be determined – Appropriation Committee discusses School Budget (Public Comment Included)
• 4/28 – School Budget booklet e-mailed and posted on HPS website
• 5/5 – Annual Town Meeting begins, typically lasts for multiple evenings
