School Committee FY’09 Budget Hearing – 3/20 7:30 p.m. MS Library
At its March 18th regular meeting, the Board of Selectmen (BOS) voted NOT to put an override on the ballot – i.e., they voted to put forth a budget for Level Funding – using available revenue to fund the town budget. This budget will reduce the services that you now receive from schools, police, fire, and public works.
Tomorrow night (Thursday, March 20th) the School Committee is scheduled to hold its Public Hearing on the FY ’09 School Committee Budget. Given the recommendation of the BOS, the School Committee will review its proposed Budget and review their proposed cuts ($711,030.00) that a Level Funded budget will require. The public is welcome to attend and participate in this agenda item discussion.
If you are not able to attend the meeting, EducateHopkinton encourages you to take the opportunity to have your voice and questions heard regarding the FY ’09 School Committee budget. Emailing, calling or writing the members of the School Committee with questions or comments regarding the options and decisions before them is one way to involve yourself in the budget building process.
School Committee members are: Rebecca Robak, Chair, Nancy Alvarez Burdick, Vice Chair, Lyn Branscomb Dave Stoldt, Phil Totino
